WCW and fashion inspo, Joelle

When I was in high school, I got criticized because of my clothes. As much as I want to wear nice clothes, my insecurities has dominated my style. I’ve always been on the heavy side so I thought my clothing options are limited. Not to mention my financial stability– I was always broke too! Good thing I already get pass through that stage of my life. I’m still on the heavy side, but I don’t let it stop me. I love dressing up and I believe that my weight should not compromise my style. Sadly, I know that some women still have the mindset I had 12 years ago. The good news is, we can always work on our insecurities, all we need is a support group. With that being said, I’d like to introduce to you one of the girls I look up to who will teach us a thing or two about confidence and fashion. Let’s welcome this week’s WCW: Joelle.

OOTD: Red skirt dilemma

Have you ever bought something you really liked it but eventually realize that you don’t? Do you keep it? Or give it to someone else? Or maybe throw it away for good? I recently had this dilemma when I bought a red skirt from Urban Planet. I was excited to try it but I couldn’t match it with any of my tops! Maybe it was also because it was winter that time which made my choices very limited. But now that it’s spring, I finally made use of my red skirt and I’m glad I kept it.

The Craft Beer Market experience

I’ve been hearing good things about the Craft Beer Market but didn’t get the chance to visit the place until last Sunday in our bloggers brunch. When I entered the pub, I immediately noticed how hip it was. The pub’s logo is painted on a brick wall which also serves as their reception area. They also have high ceilings and for someone who appreciates interior design (thanks to Property Brothers! lol), I consider it as one of their assets (besides their craft beer, of course).

Edmonton Bloggers Brunch

I never took blogging seriously until fall of last year. So when I  did, I looked for ways to connect with other bloggers, especially those who are in the city. I got invited to an event back in January but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend. Finally, just last Sunday, I was able to meet passionate bloggers from Edmonton in our bloggers brunch held at the Craft Beer Market.  The event was arranged by Christine Bruckmann, from Just another Edmonton mommy.  She is also the admin of the Bloggers in Edmonton group on Facebook, if I’m not mistaken. This was my first networking and bloggers event so imagine how stoked I was!

Beat the heat with Warby Parker’s newest collection

Sunnies are back! Growing up in a tropical country, sunnies has been one of my fashion staple. Since I use it all the time, I think it’s just fair for me to be fussy when buying a new one. I do consider the style but what I always look for is whether the style fits the shape of my face. Comfort is also an essential for me. I make sure that I’m going to use it for a long time. I discovered Warby Parker while browsing online and love how their sunnies can be worn wherever and whatever your style is. They actually just launched their newest collection today which I’m glad to share with you 🙂

Cory Christopher’s Build your own Terrarium

Terrariums are a great staple, especially when you are into vintage or bohemian vibe or simply someone who likes maintaining an indoor garden. I always wanted to make my own. I dropped by the Cory Christopher booth at the  EHGS 2017 and when I saw that they were offering a terrarium workshop, I didn’t hesitate to sign up. A terrarium workshop originally costs $110 but for only $20, I was able to make my own and the best part was I got to bring it home lol.

OOTN: Date night

Date nights on warmer weather is always fun. Who likes covering up their nice outfits anyway? Yesterday, my fiance took me on a date and I took this as an advantage to dress up lol. This outfit is perfect for the season as it gives you an edgy look while still looking sophisticated. Also, this look is just an easy mix and match, every piece of clothing I used can also be found on your wardrobe!
